The 9290-10 is an AC clamp adapter for extending the current measurement capability of clamp meters and clamp power meters. It operates as a current transformer with a ratio of 10:1. A primary current of up to 1000 A AC continuous (1500 A AC for 5 minutes) is converted into a secondary current that can be measured by clamp meters with a lower current measurement range. 

The adapter enables measurements on large conductors and busbars that cannot be accommodated by standard clamp jaws. The clamp opening accepts round conductors up to 55 mm in diameter and busbars up to 80 × 20 mm. The integrated secondary coil is designed to be clamped by a compatible clamp meter or clamp sensor. 

With its wide frequency characteristics and stable phase behavior, the 9290-10 is suitable for current measurements and power measurements in electrical installations and industrial equipment. The adapter provides amplitude accuracy of ±1.5 % rdg. at 45 Hz to 66 Hz and maintains stable frequency and phase characteristics from 20 Hz to 5 kHz. It is rated for measurement environments up to CAT III 600 V. 

Reusable numbered clips are included to mark conductors when performing sequential measurements on three-phase circuits. The 9290-10 is manufactured by HIOKI in Japan.
